Representing the community of registered anaesthetists, the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists fosters connection, advocacy, and ongoing learning for its members. To support this mission, we've developed a three-part resource series designed to make integrating te reo Māori into daily practice simple, practical, and impactful.

The Conversation Card, Care Card, and Daily Quick-Fire Card feature 45 essential phrases and key terms, equipping members with the language tools they need to navigate interactions with patients, colleagues and stakeholders with confidence.

  • The primary objective of our engagement was to create personable, digestible, and inviting resources that empower NZSA members to integrate te reo Māori into their professional practice.

  • Our team began with comprehensive moodboarding, gathering and refining visual design direction to establish a cohesive look and feel. We then conducted a thorough review of key English terms and phrases in collaboration with NZSA and its members to ensure relevance and usability. Our verified translators worked on Māori interpretations and translations, and we facilitated collaborative review meetings at key stages to ensure alignment throughout the process.
